Ralph Borde is the president and founder of Charasia, a not for profit organization dedicated to empowering Kingdom leaders through church planting, orphan care, and micro-enterprise.
Ralph was born in India to Suresh and Saroj Borde. His father Suresh, born in India, but educated in the United States, moved back to India to bring the gospel to his needy country. Saroj also had a passion to bring the gospel to the broken. Orphaned at a young age and maltreated by relatives, she was finally turned over to a Christian orphanage where she came to faith. After her conversion, her prayer was to marry a pastor so that she and her husband could spend their lives together in ministry.
Their first son, Jonathan, was born, soon followed by Ralph. When Ralph was three years old, tragedy struck the family. Suresh went home to be with the Lord, leaving a grieving widow and two young sons behind. Yet God provided. Saroj was offered a nursing position at a prestigious school, not only giving her the means to support her family, but also opening the doors to the best possible education for her sons.
Ralph received his Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Computer Science and Engineering in India. He excelled in his classes and was class representative on the student council for three consecutive years. His hard work allowed him the opportunity to pursue his post-grad degree in the United States and he received his Master's Degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University.
Ralph worked with Motorola in Schaumburg, Illinois from 1998 to 2005 and held several leadership roles in his department, providing management and technical leadership for two-way radio system product development for mission critical systems to meet the needs of public safety, government, private, service provider and enterprise customers worldwide.
During this time, the vision that was to become Charasia had already begun in India. Ralph's uncle had founded a small Bible Institute to train pastors, followed three years later by Grace Children's home, a girls' orphanage. Ralph supported his uncle's efforts, and worked with him whenever he traveled home to India. When Ralph's uncle passed away in 1999, God started to work on Ralph's heart more and more with each trip he took to India.
At the end of 2005, after much prayer and consideration, Ralph obeyed God's call to leave Motorola and begin full time work on the ministry in India. With the assistance of his friends and family, he formed Charasia.
Ralph now attends Moody Bible Institute and is working on his Master of Arts Degree in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship. He also travels throughout North America and provides vision and leadership to an administrative, pastoral, and orphan care staff of more than 60 people in India.
Ralph desires to seek the Lord wholeheartedly and live a life that yearns to honor and serve God, relying on the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit that works to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or imagine. To God be the glory!
